A place of relaxation
With a view of Denmarks green coast, the bay around Sandwig is of particular beauty for tourists as well as for locals. The popular beach is very well maintained and has a good infrastructure. Showers and sanitary facilities, a children’s playground and our Sandwig beach bistro make it an attractive destination for families. The pier, which was renewed in 2017, is also the exclusive berth for the MS Viking, which connects the bay with the Flensburg port in a 50-minute conveyor tour. Please note that a tourist tax of 2.50 euros must be paid on this beach.

Sandwig bay
The beautiful beach of Glücksburg is located directly between the fjord and the hotel garden. With its gently sloping shore and a beautiful pier, this place of relaxation offers walkers and swimmers many opportunities to enjoy our Baltic Sea.
The beach is connected to public transport very well. Paid & free parking spaces are located along the Sandwigstraße approx. 50 m from the promenade.

Sandwig beach bistro
The Sandwig beach bistro is known for the most beautiful view, the relaxed atmosphere and uncomplicated cuisine. Come by and enjoy the view of the Flensburg Fjord from the front row! Of course you can also rent the Sandwig for your celebration of 2 to 100 people.

Shipping from the pier
Experience the picturesque funding region from the water with the MS Viking. On the ship you can shop for duty-free goods, enjoy food, drinks and a guided sightseeing tour with explanations of the region.
Glücksburg – Flensburg: The ship travels from the pier to the fjord bridge to Flensburg (and return). The journey time is around 50 minutes and bicycles can be taken on board for an additional charge as well.
Ticket sales: in Glücksburg about 15 minutes before departure directly at the ship – in Flensburg about 30 minutes before departure at the pier. Groups of 20 or more please register in advance.
