Your room is available from 03:00 PM on the day of arrival until 11:00 AM on the day of departure. It might be possible to check in a bit earlier, but due to the booking situation we cannot guarantee that the room will be ready before time. In any case, we would be happy to receive your luggage in advance.
A later check-out is possible at an additional cost of € 30.00 until 13.00 PM.
Beyond that time we charge the normal room rate.
Our prices are the room rates. Only our packages have a per person price.
Our breakfast buffet is included in the room price.
The use of our wellness area and 4 saunas are all included in your room rate. Our treatments are priced separately, and if you wish to book an appointment it is a good idea to do so before your arrival, otherwise we might not have more availability.
Booking directly with us makes the process easier and smoother on our end, and getting in a direct contact with our hotel also makes it eaiser for you as a guest should they have a more questions or requests.
Usually we do not need a credit card in advance. You may pay for your entire stay on the day of departure with girocard, credit card or cash.
During the months of April until the end of October, the town of Glücksburg charges a spa-tax only for private stays and for adults.
Parking is available free of charge, in limited number directly at the hotel. Please note that we do not make parking reservations.
You have the opportunity to use one out of three chargeable charging stations from GP Joule located directly at the hotel.
Our secure W-LAN network is available to hotel guests free of charge.
You are very welcome to bring your dog to the hotel and restaurant. For the additional cleaning expences at your room we charge € 25 per dog/night.
You will find this in your offer or your reservation confirmation. For longer stays, we recommend that you take out travel cancellation insurance. If you made a reservation through a booking portal or a third-party provider, we must inform you that any cancellation or modification to your booking has to be carried out on your own through those booking firms.
Our reception is staffed 24 hours a day and we are always there for you.
Our hotel is an non-smoking hotel. It is not allowed to smoke in our rooms or apartments. It is possible to smoke on our balconies on the 1-3 floors. Alternatively you may concider booking a room with a balcony.
Our hotel has two elevators. You can use either elevator to get up to the third floor, from which the fourth floor is accessible via a short staircase.
We do not have air condition in our hotel rooms. High temperature peaks are very rare in our area due to our location directly by the sea.
The beach hotel is located directly on the Flensburg Fjord. The distance to the water is approx. 70m.
Not all our rooms have a sea view or a balcony. You can also book a room with a beautiful view over the Hotel Garden or the Health Resort Park.
Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that a specific room is available upon request. It depends on the whether the current availability and potential technical difficulties would make this possible. But rest assured that we will do everything we can to make your wish come true.
Our beds are 1.40 m wide in the single rooms and 1.60 – 1.80 m wide in the double and premium rooms. If you would like a wider bed, please let us know prior to your arrival so that we may plan accordingly, depending on the room category and availability.
For your baby or toddler up to 5 years old, we are happy to provide age-appropriate beds free of charge.
In some of our rooms it is possible to prepare an extra bed. For this we charge an additional fee per person per night, which is € 35,00 for children between the ages of 6-12 and € 65,00 for guests 13 years and older. We ask for a reservation in advance.
There is a coffee and tea station, a bottle of water 0.75 l as well as toiletries and personal-care items in each room.
You are welcome to add breakfast to your apartment booking. It is also possible to add this later on during your stay, though we kindly ask for this informtion one day in advance.
Moving in before 13:00 all depends on the current level of occupancy. Therefore, we unfortunately cannot guarantee that an earlier check-in is always possible.
Some of our rooms are suitable in size and equipment for handicapped guests. However, we do not have any rooms specially equipped for the disabled. If you have any special needs, please contact our reception directly and we will be happy to advise you personally.
All our bed-linen are suitable for allergy sufferers. Our hotel rooms have wooden flooring and is allergy-friendly.
We are always keen on fulfilling our guests every need. Should you have a special requests, pleasue contact us prior to your arrival so that we have time to make the arrangements for you.

Beach chairs cannot be reserved directly through the hotel. However, the beach chair rental is in the immediate vicinity of the hotel. Alternatively, you can also reserve a beach chair though the homepage: www.strand-gluecksburg.de
Our hotel has no connection to a main road nearby. It is located by the edge of the Health Resort Park on the Flensburg Fjord. The nearest train station/airport is approx. 15 km away in Flensburg. You should not expect any traffic noises.
Unfortunately, we are unable to offer a secure, lockable area for bicycles. However, we do provide a standard bicycle rack located on our premises as an alternative.
You can contact our reception directly. If you are planning a birthday party, a wedding celebration or a conference, our banquet department is looking very much forward to getting in touch with you.
In order to ensure a smooth and timely service, we have divided the dinner reservation time at restaurant “Felix” into two time periods: 5.30 – 7.30 pm & 8.00 – 10.00 pm. We kindly ask you to reserve a table in advance, even as a hotel guest.
Your restaurant bill, as well as everything else at our hotel, can conveniently be written to your room and paid upon the day of departure.
If you suffer from any food intolerances we can of course accommodate your needs. We only ask that you inform us in advance, so that the kitchen has time to prepare.
You are welcome to book our 3-course surprise menu of the chef’s choice for € 49 per day/person. The vegetarian 3-course menu costs € 49 per day/person.
We do offer a selection of vegetarian and vegan dishes. Please inform us ahead of time so that the kitchen has time to prepare.
It is not possible to reserve a table at beach bistro “Sandwig”.
To withdraw cash, you would have to drive into the town of Glücksburg. Here you will find a Nord-Ostsee-Sparkasse and a VR bank. These are both located at the Edeka Store.
Numerous fantastic opportunities and activities are available in close vicinity of Strandhotel Gluecksburg, including a sailing trip on the Flensburg Fjord, stand-up paddling, swimming or sunbathing by the beach, hiking, walking or bicycling in one of the surrounding forests and more… If you contact us and let us know your interests we will be happy to make appropriate suggestions.
Located at the border area between Germany and Denmark we have cultivated an atmosphere which adheres to the Danish and north German way, with a rather informal, unhurried but polite and respectful treatment of our guests. In the Restaurant and elsewhere in the hotel there is no “dress code” that the guests have to follow.
